A timely podcast interview, as RFK Jr. and the MAHA movement have been thrust to the forefront of the national political stage this week. The sustained movement has been brought to Massachusetts most recently in the form of the debate on fluoride.
This interview is a follow-up to the recent Substack post here summarizing the recent fluoride Public Hearing at a Board of Health meeting in Newburyport, MA.

Reclaim Podcast – Politics at the Grassroots
Episode 5: Karen Favazza Spencer Interview
Guest: Karen Favazza Spencer is an analyst who was listed as a member of the Food & Water Watch who was harmed by fluoridation policy in its 2016 Petition to the EPA and subsequent 2017 lawsuit against the EPA. Judge Edward M. Chen ruled against the EPA in September 2024 after 18 days of expert testimony in that protracted two part trial, finding that fluoridation poses an “unreasonable risk” to the public, regardless of what point of departure is used which requires applying even a minimal “uncertainty factor” of ten to account for different individual water consumption patterns and susceptibility.
A copy of the court document and a hyperlinked annotated bibliography of relevant peer-reviewed science published since 2015 can be found at:

There are several states with bills filed this session to either ban fluoridation or remove state mandates, including in MA, where the bills still need Co-Sponsors. Please phone, visit and email your state Senator and Representative in Boston asking them to sponsor or support:
SD 227 / HD 3440 An Act banning artificial fluoridation schemes
- This is a simple bill that replaces the current MA Fluoridation Law.
SD228 / HD 3455 An Act relative to fluoride in water warnings
- Requires language on the annual water report warning susceptible populations whenever the fluoride concentration in drinking water is at or above 0.3 ppm
SD2446 / HD 4176 An Act providing municipalities to opt out of fluoridation treatments
- This bill corrects an “oversight” in the odd MA law by providing a legal way for communities governed by that law to end fluoridation once begun.
